Upcoming conference focuses on first-year experiences
Faculty and staff are invited to attend the First-Year Conference Thursday, Oct. 11, to discuss ways to engage new students and set them on the path for a successful academic career.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Pyle Center and will feature keynote speaker Patrick Farrell, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. The conference is free and includes lunch.
There will be several breakout sessions to focus on different areas of working with first-year students. They include:
- Knowledge of Human Cultures and the Physical and Natural World
- Intellectual and Practical Skills
- Personal and Social Responsibility
- Integrative Learning
