Grab a PB & J with the Dean of Students
Dean of Students Lori Berquam and staff from Offices of the Dean of Students will encourage student nutrition by handing out free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
“PB & J with the Dean” will be held in the middle of Bascom Hill. Sandwiches will be available on a first-come first-serve basis to 1,000 students.
“It is one of my goals as dean to help our students get the protein they need to be successful at UW–Madison,” Berquam says.
Joking aside, the event is designed to help students become more familiar with Berquam and ODOS staff and aware of where various offices are located on campus. Staff members, including new associate deans Kevin Helmkamp and Argyle Wade, will also be available to meet with students and talk about student safety in the downtown area
Berquam was named permanent dean in February, after serving in an interim capacity since 2005. She has also served as associate and assistant dean of students and as an assistant director of University Housing.
The Offices of the Dean of Students (ODOS) are made up of 11 student-focused units, play an important role in promoting diversity and campus climate, providing student support and crisis services, and advocating for student leadership and engagement.
