Employee bus pass distribution under way
Transportation Services offers free bus passes to all UW–Madison employees, and distribution of 2007-08 passes is under way.
The passes allow employees to ride for free on all Madison Metro routes (excluding special event shuttles).
All employees paid through UW payroll, except for graduate assistants and student hourly positions, are eligible for the pass. This includes faculty, academic staff, classified employees, post docs and limited-term employees. Emeritus faculty and staff are eligible for the free bus pass.
Employees from authorized affiliates are also eligible for the bus pass, including UW Hospital, Wisconsin Alumni Association, UW Foundation, Wisconsin Historical Society and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).
To pick up and use your pass, you must have a valid UW identification card. Anyone who doesn’t have a valid UW ID card can get one at Union South on the lower level next to the Games Room in Room B109. The photo ID office is open from 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Employees can pick up their bus passes on the following days:
- Memorial Union, Annex Room, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24.
- WARF, 610 Walnut St., Room 132, 8 a.m.-noon on Monday, Aug. 27-Thursday, Aug. 30, or from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31.
- Welcome Center, 21 N. Park St., Room 1106, 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, and Thursday and Friday, Sept. 6 and 7. Or pick up your pass in the Welcome Center lobby from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
- UW Hospital, H4/1 Elevator Lobby (near cafeteria), 2-6 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 27-Thursday, Aug. 30; or from 8 a.m.-noon on Friday, Aug. 31, and Tuesday, Sept. 4-Friday, Sept. 7.
Please note that there was a misprint on the 2006-07 bus passes. The bus passes expire on Aug. 31, not on Sept. 30.
